Easton swimmers deliver standout performances against a deep Phillipsburg roster 

Easton Aquatic Club turned in another impressive performance Thursday night, producing exciting finishes and significant improvements as the Gators took on one of the league's deepest rosters. EAC's 35 athletes faced off against Phillipsburg's 98 swimmers and made every opportunity count, collecting event victories across multiple age groups while continuing to showcase the team's focus and determination throughout the season. 

Leading the way were EAC's high-point scorers, Sofiya Gaffney and Winston Robins. Gaffney topped all 13-14 girls with 15.5 points after winning the 50-yard breaststroke, backstroke, and butterfly, while Robins claimed high-point honors for the 13-14 boys with 13.5 points, highlighted by victories in the 100 IM and 50 breaststroke. Their efforts, along with several other strong performances, helped the 13-14 boys outscore Phillipsburg, 33-22. 

Several victories came down to the wire. The boys 13 and over medley relay team of Danny Bartolet, Wylie Maier, Sarin Taylor, and Winston Robins outtouched Phillipsburg by just 1.16 seconds. Danny Bartolet captured the 15 and over backstroke by only 0.09 seconds, Winston Robins held off the field in the 50 breaststroke by 0.76 seconds, and Sofiya Gaffney's 50 breaststroke victory came by just 0.44 seconds. 

EAC also posted several impressive time drops. Tilley Quinlan dropped more than four seconds to win the 11-12 freestyle, while Theo Campbell lowered his 25-yard breaststroke time by nearly 10 seconds. His brother, Finley, cut more than five seconds in the backstroke, and Reif Serry trimmed over five seconds in the 8 and under backstroke. Those performances, along with strong swims throughout the lineup, reflected the team's motto: Believe, Commit, Succeed. 

The Gators return to action this Saturday at the GPS Invitational before traveling to Hunterdon County YMCA and Bethlehem for their final two dual meets of the season. Families are reminded to declare their swimmers' availability and sign up to volunteer.
