Holiday practice once again serves a greater purpose as EAC families help stock local pantry shelves.

EASTON, Pa. — Easton Aquatic Club (EAC) continued a meaningful tradition at its Independence Day practice by hosting its 5th Annual AmeriCan Food Drive.

Following the team's July 3rd practice, swimmers and their families donated canned goods, pasta, rice, beans, and other non-perishable food items to support the ProJeCt of Easton Food Pantry.

What began five years ago as a way to give back during a holiday practice has become an annual tradition for the club, combining community service with one of the team's favorite practices of the season.

"Our team is smaller this year, but our families came through big as always," said EAC Head Coach Carlton Taylor. "I'm glad we can help in some way."

ProJeCt’s Food Pantry has been a community cornerstone for more than 30 years. The goal of the pantry is to reduce food insecurity and increase food knowledge by providing high quality, nutrient dense food to low-income, at-risk adults, children, and seniors.

EAC, a nonprofit organization, exists to provide swimmers in the Easton area an opportunity to have fun and enhance their swimming ability through application of the latest techniques while promoting core values of education, character, leadership and competition. They compete locally in the Penn Jersey Summer League.
