Starting #EACStrong

We're off to great start. Swimmers are getting acclimated to the pool (brrrr) and the routine. This a longer email just going over a few things.

Communications

  • Communications are key during the season, conditions can change rapidly. When something urgent comes up we will send emails, as well as post on our website and social media (FacebookInstagram & Twitter all at: @eastonaquatic )
  • The easiest and fastest way to communicate is via the Swimtopia app. If you haven't done so already please download the Swimtopia App. It is a valuable tool for seeing your swimmers events, keep track of results, see dates, and locations of meets among other things. Your login will be the same as the website.

Practice

  • It's cold now and your swimmers may not feel it but they are sweating and can become dehydrated quickly. Please bring a water bottle to every practice.
  • We started working in our practice groups. They are selected to have your swimmer develop as quickly as possible given our short time (about 30 hours of practice) together. Depending on the stroke or set your swimmer may move to a different lane/ group. We are always positive about moves, if parents stay positive about moves, the swimmers tend to stay positive about moves and they will continue to develop.

Picture Day

  • Fisk Camera will be taking team photos at 10:00 am on Tuesday June 27th.
  • Please wear the team suit to practice, if you don't have it yet, a solid black or solid red suit will suffice.
  • The packages are $20 and forms will be available at Heil ahead of picture day and day of.

Last Call for Caps

  • This is the last call for swim caps personalized or standard. Unlike the suit which they'll grow out of the caps will last for multiple seasons!

Meets and Jobs

  • The signups for meet attendance and volunteer signups are both up and open on the site. Please declare attending OR not attending for you swimmers.
  • An important part of providing the best meet experience for all involved is letting the coaching staff know which meets you plan to be at and which ones you will not be at. Meet line ups are done in advance, if you have not declared for a meet your swimmer will not be entered into the lineup. If you are new to the team there is a step by step guide here: How to enter meets.
  • Job Sign Ups
    • "It takes a village to run a swim meet." We do need volunteers to help run the meets. The list of jobs can be found here: Job Assignment

Thanks in advance. If you any questions or concerns please contact us.

Thank you again.

Sincerely,

Easton Aquatic Club
